Ghostly pasts and postponed futures: The disorder of time during the corona pandemic

Since the first lockdown in March 2020, time seems to have slowed a continuous present tense. The Greek language has three words express different experiences of time: aion, chronos and kairos. If aion is boundless limbo-like eternity, represents chronological, sequential, linear time. Kairos, however, signifies rupture ordinary with opportune moment, epiphany redemption, revolution, most broadly, crisis emergency. This paper argues that pandemic impacting how individuals perceive two ways: first, as distortion which are caught between ( chronos) kairos) invoking state emergency second, an extended blurs passing chronological its seeming eternity aion). As result perceived suspension time, temporal understandings future postponed, while past hovers like ghost over present.
